Wild Arts Fair

The perfect stay at home project celebrates the Wildlife and Art of the Axe Valley and East Devon with prizes up for grabs.

Seaton Tramway is inviting the local community to submit pieces to the following categories: ‘Photography’, ‘Sculpture, drawing & painting’, ‘Film & Music’, ‘Short Stories & Poetry’.

Celebrating the Wildlife and Art of the Axe Valley and East Devon the Wild Arts Fair presented by Seaton Tramway will display the best of the arts created by the community. Art, Film, Music and Photography will be displayed in Seaton Station 19th to 25th April under the theme ‘The Wildlife of Axe Valley and East Devon’.

To celebrate the skill & talent East Devon has to offer, the Arts Fair categories will be open with prizes provided by Seaton Tramway, Seaton Jurassic and Devon Art Supplies. Each category has two submission categories. ‘Adults 18+’ & ‘Juniors Under 18’s’. The categories will be judged by a select panel.

Adult Category first prize is

£100 cash + Family Ticket to Seaton Tramway + Family Ticket to Seaton Jurassic + Free Art lesson at Devon Art Supplies (Seaton)

Junior Category first prize is

Arts Hamper from Devon Arts Supplies + Family Ticket to Seaton Tramway + Family Ticket to Seaton Jurassic + Free Art lesson at Devon Art Supplies (Seaton)
Submissions for all categories will be open from 15th January.
 
Artwork will also be displayed by Seaton’s own ‘Seaton & District Arts Society’ during the arts fair.

Awards will be announced on the evening of 24th April and winners will be displayed 25th April. Subject to Covid Restrictions

Seaton Tramway will also be introducing their new community project ‘The Marvellous Mosaic Project’ which would provide an interactive backdrop to the fair. Visitors and the local community will be invited to be a small part of a big picture. Using any medium available to them, these small pieces will fit together to create a large piece of artwork to be displayed at the Tramway. Local schools and businesses will be invited to participate, as will visitors to the Tramway. Due to the changes in restrictions, the final piece will be a digital mosaic, displayed online and in Seaton Station.

The final piece will be displayed during the arts fair from 19th – 25th April.

The Wild Arts Fair and Competition is supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund, Seaton Jurassic, Wild East Devon & Devon Arts Supplies.
